Another week

Yes, another week and more job applications. I can't seem to find too many jobs I haven't applied for yet, but the ones I find I do apply. Had 3 phone interviews with head hunters that can barely speak English and know nothing about the jobs they are talking about, and one very interesting situation. I get a call from a lab in NYC to talk about my experience. He laughs at the fact that I have experience with several lab animal species (???) and tells me that some one will call me later for a phone interview. Nothing happens for a few days and today I get a call from the same lab, with the same questions, and then she schedules a phone interview next Monday with the only person that makes the final decision. How many pre-interviews are needed? Another example of poor communication.

I also had a phone interview with another head hunter telling me about this great job in Tuxedo Park, NY. Is a lab supervisor, and pays under 40K. He knows I will be living in the Bronx when I take the job. With that salary, after taxes, insurance, etc... I may have enough money left to pay for gasoline and tolls. Leave alone rent, food, kids, etc. I feel bad for not even considering the job, but I am trying to be honest to myself. I can accept a lower pay, but needs to be close to home to make it worth it. I am sure somewhere there is a job for me...but where?
